Description

An original 1st mono press of OTTOAD on the Deram label in summer'69. Matrix 2W/2W. Stampers 1-U/1-M...very early and signalling a copy from the very 1st 5,000 under the Buckingham sequence. Please note labels are consistent with 1st press using the colour 'ochre' in the upper hemisphere and an inverted tape number on the right side. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve. 1st issue sleeves should have the peep-hole on the rear and the lyric booklet attached in the interior [as this copy has]. Also included is an original red and white mono inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback - with one tiny deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It's very important with the Moody's to find a really clean copy otherwise interference will typically interfere with the listening process. Thankfully this copy has been well cared for, and barring one or two tiny issues, it plays very very clean. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All we detected was a few crackles in the odd isolated moment [e.g. briefly in the intro to 'Never Comes The Day']. Then a noticeable issue is two momentary [sub 1 second] pulses of interference. They're very brief and in a quiet interlude of 'Never Comes The Day' - so thankfully not too distracting.
Cover (Ex) In great condition and is the genuine 1st issue. Lovely shiny front and back with just a couple of tiny creases. Edge wear is superlight and the spine is pretty much entirely intact. The interior is in excellent condition too - and it is usually here that you find the odd problem. The booklet pages often attract ageing/foxing. Not here, thankfully, a slight hint of handling and then nice white unaged pages. Very impressive, original, and complete.
Inner (Ex) No issues at all. No splits.
