Description

An original 1st press from early summer 1969 whilst the album charted. Matrix 2W/2W - very 1st cut. Take a look at the 2nd issue we have for sale. 1st issues are quite a different proposition than the second issues with a number of differences. Firstly, the 2W/2W copies are the earliest cut you'll find and they're pressed on lovely thick sixties vinyl. Note how the tape number is inverted - something which you tend not to find from the autumn onwards. The vinyl comes housed in a laminated gatefold sleeve which helps to protect the covers and gives it more rigidity, the peep-hole is also present. These 1st issue covers were printed by Garrod & Lofthouse and have the lyric booklet attached/stapled into the mid-section [not loose]. Also included is an original blue and white Decca inner sleeve from '69. So, this is 100% genuine and 100% complete. 
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In very decent condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very superficial marks per side - nothing troublesome or heavy. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback. Expect a bit of low-level background here and there. It's a nice player, but it won't suit someone who needs a perfectly quiet background. Still, for a 1st press, it's in very respectable condition.
Cover (Ex) A very nice looking cover without creasing and lovely bold colours fully preserved. The interior looks great with little ageing at all. The booklet is complete and still fully attached. No pages missing and it hasn't been heavily thumbed. Edge wear is very limited for this title and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is fully intact with just a touch of light fade. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Very little ageing at all. No splits.
