The Neat Change - I Lied To Auntie May / Sandman DECCA 1968
An extremely hard to find single - I agonised over whether I should sell this single or not, as it's the only copy I've ever seen in 30 years of record collecting. Anyway, both sides are great pop-sike tunes, 'I Lied To Auntie May' featuring on The British Psychedelic Trip Vol.4.
Weirdly, The Neat Change were touted as a 'skinhead' band when this was released, but listening to the song(definitely not 60s ska) and looking at pictures of the band(clearly growing their hair), one suspects this was a misguided marketing ploy by their management, who didn't really get where youth culture was heading in the late 60s.
Condition - VG many hairlines and small light marks. 'Sandman' has some background crackle(could just be dirty), while 'I Lied To Auntie May' plays much more cleanly.
