Description

A super introduction to some of the great artists on CBS during the 60'.... A super funky 'Killing Floor'. TAJ doing 'Statesboro Blues'. Roy Harper. Cohen. Spirit. Zombies.. and more.
A 1968 1st stereo 1st pressing on UK CBS. Matrix A2/B1. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover WITHOUT any silly pricing stickers that very commonly applied to this release. Cover printed by E J Day with pinched spine. We also have an original CBS inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. Surfaces look shiny - a lot of that original lustre still in place. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just slightest deviation in a couple of spots. A cracking compilation in my opinion. And some totally fab audio rolling off this quality late 60's copy. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Really clean throughout with just slight evidence of use in a couple of spots. E.g. a few light crackles as the Zombies song comes in & the intro to 'Scarborough'. And precious little else. For a fussy record - this copy is REALLY well preserved. Just listen to Cohen's track. Even 'Melinda' plays really clean which is a super hard find. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex) Lovely clean front and rear with barely a crease. Worth noting the cover is totally flat and fully laminated. Edge wear is very slight with just one tiny knock along the bottom edge. The spine is 99% intact with one slight stress crease midway. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) A bit aged. One inch side split.
