Description

An original 1st mono press of BB on the UK Decca label from 1968. Matrix 4A/3A. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L mono gatefold cover. Also included is the original red Mono specific Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex-) In great shape and has only seen light to moderate use. Do expect a few light marks either side - nothing sinister that causes major problem. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of small deviations. This copy plays GREAT...it's not quite clean enough to go to the top grades, but it's a perfect illustration of why these mono '68 copies are so sought after. The audio is deep and rich... an absolute tour-de-force. Interference is relatively minor and infrequent. Intros and inbetweens are relatively quiet...don't expect perfectly quiet gaps. But I'm detecting precious little within the tracks  - be that the upbeat ones, or the low-keyed. Do expect a few isolated crackles and a couple of pops as StreetFingMan closes/fades-out and two ticks as 'Dear Doctor' fades-out [no-big-deal at all]. I can't recommend this copy highly enough.... A steal at this price.
Cover (Ex) Looks absolutely stunning with a beautiful white cover. Ageing does not appear to have got a hold of this example and that singles it out as unusual. Nothing worse than a couple of thumbnail creases front back. The interior looks great too, but does have one large scuff mark down toward the foot of the left panel. Thankfully, due to the composition of the image it doesn't stand out too much. Edge wear is very light and the spine is perfectly preserved. Overall cover still retains very good rigidity. A beautiful specimen.
Inner (Ex-) A bit of light ageing. No splits.
