Description

An original 1st mono press of BB on UK Decca. Matrix 4/2. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold. Also included the red mono lined inner sleeve from the time. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In very nice condition and has only seen a light to mode level of use. There are a good few very light arks per side, one very superficial trail on side2, but nothing feelable or troublesome. Remember these original '68 copies were pressed heavy and will not be troubled by this at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Not quite good enough to hit the top grades, but a very decent and solid rendition. Quiet intros and inbetween and the audio comes across with great clarity. The mono copies are definitely worth tracking down if you can afford it! This copy play very nice indeed - not quite clean enough to satisfy the most ardent hifi nuts - but very very well. Expect just a touch of lightest background in a couple of tracks [e.g. 'No Expectations' - the fussiest]. Nothing invasive or off-putting at all. Overall I'd have to say I really like it - there really is very little to turn your nose up at.
Cover (Vg+) Might grade a touch higher, but for the light ageing that has occurred front and back. Even with it being slightly off-white it still retains a very majestic look. There is little indentation or creasing so it still has that very clean and impressive look. The interior looks excellent - no issues at all. Edge wear is very minor for this title. The openings are still sharpish and the spine is way above average [all text legible]. One slight 5mm at the top opening edge [right panel]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Bag still in place. Very little ageing at all. No splits.
