Description
For sale is The Temptations Greatest Hits, originally released in 1966 by Motown Records' Gordy label with a purple label that has "Gordy" in cursive yellow letters at the top, with the slogan "It's What In The Grooves That Count". This record was later reissued by Motown Records, identified by a purple label, "Gordy" in purple to the left of the center hole inside a yellow wedge going through the center hole from left to right. In the dead wax between these labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 1-S/1-U, indicating that an early stamper was used to make this reissue, a hallmark of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Excellent because of some faint ring wear, small stress cracks along the spine and corner blunts. The spine has color loss at one corner. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint. This the best copy of this album that I have ever seen and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, being that it has become so scarce.
