Description
Here for sale is a copy of The Velvet Underground's classic debut album. Often considered as the 'banana album' This is a first press mono copy from 1967 featuring a full TORSO uncensored from Eric Emerson. Later pressings had either a sticker covering his image on the back cover or just completely censored out completely over a lawsuit by Emerson. This version is considered by many to be the most rare and sought after especially in mono. Andy Warhol produced the album and created the banana for the cover. Making this album... cover art. The album is considered by many as top 10 best albums of all time . It was soo far ahead of it's time and it's constant boundary breaking was something that hadn't been seen.
Condition
Record - VG+
Album has a few light scratches that aren't at all feelable. Very nice copy.
Cover- VG
Some light wear throughout from being almost 50 years old. Top of cover has a seam split that runs for a couple inches. Overall not bad. Spine in good shape with just a bit of extremely light wear.
Inside gatefold cover has small name stamped and a couple random gray marks. Still nice.
Banana sticker was once torn at the stem. It was nicely taped back on(not by me) The stem however is loose but still secure above the applied tape. Banana is in great condition besides the aforementioned stem. Please ask questions if you have them.

sleeve in great condition. Original sleeve issued from 1967.
