Description
Holy Grail original 1st Pressing!
This is the original first state pressing, with the Eric Emerson ‘torso’ back cover. Subsequent (2nd State) releases had a sticker, covering the offending image, whereas third state covers had Emerson airbrushed out of the image.
COVER VG+
Strong VG+. Partial banana peel (OK, almost completely peeled!), The cover presents beautifully. Hint of ring wear, along with a crease on the front, and some minor splitting on the top (about 3 inches). Inner gatefold presents beautifully. Please do see the images, and if you would like more pictures, just let me know.
RECORD VG-/G+
OK, this is not a pristine record. Spot played every track, and while there are numerous pops and cracks, I did not hear any skips or jumps; played through fine on my vintage V15 Type IV. BACKGROUND NOISE ON QUIETER SECTIONS IS QUITE EVIDENT.
True original first 1st press mono produced by Andy Warhol 1967
Andy Warhol managed the Velvet Underground (although there is certainly some disagreement on exactly how much ‘managing’ he did), and also created the album cover featuring a silkscreen banana.
Album is #13 on Rolling Stones greatest albums of all time.
This is an essential record for the Warhol or Lou Reed or Velvet Underground fan! Any questions at all, please do ask before bidding.
PayPal only, and worldwide shipping is available (sorry, no shipments to Russia or Italy).
