Description
This is a true East Coast US stereo first pressing of The Velvet Underground’s debut album. This is among the most rare and sought after records by collectors namely for the back cover featuring the torso of Eric Emerson, which was later recalled due to a lawsuit with subsequent pressings airbrushing Emerson or covering him with a sticker.
Media Condition: Good
- As far as I remember it played through and the sonics were good, nor is it warped, although there are continuous pops and clicks with several scratches. The track Heroin in particular has a bad scratch which may render it unplayable. I should also mention that the record has been deep cleaned and the labels look good. This is a record worth buying alone for the novelty of owning this iconic pressing.
Cover Condition: Good+
-No original inner sleeve and the banana is peeled. Corners and spine seem to be okay, and very light ring wear. Comes with a MOFI inner sleeve and a generic plastic outer sleeve.
Runouts are shown in two of the photos. PM me if you have any additional questions.
I just moved here to the UK from the States’ and brought over some of my collection to liquidate in exchange for UK pressings and to afford an expensive GF. If you have any interest in other OG US pressings, namely the Doors or Dylan, send me a private message or I may have put a few things up already. I’d be happy to combine shipping so we could both save a few bucks.
