Here's a big one! Many would consider this a grail! The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, and John Cale have been among my favorite recording artists of all time. This is the Promotional Yellow Label Mono East Coast Pressing of the Velvet's famed second album. This is an incredibly rare promo copy that is also Mono. Finding a U.S. Pressing of any album in Mono on or after 1968 is rare feat in itself. Mono had been phased out and reserved for A.M. radio stations, at this point. The album jacket grades at G+. The seams and spine have been repaired. The spine is mostly legible. There is a moderate amount of ring wear, but the buccaneer skull is still very visible. The vinyl itself also grades G+. There are many hairline blemishes throughout. The LP still retains gloss despite all the numerous hairlines and blemishes throughout. The playback is still solid though, and I would attribute that to the Mono format. This is a collector piece that could also be used as solid player. The LP labels are both in nice shape with some stray spindle marks and some moderate wear. I've also included the original Verve inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is in great shape. Here is what you will receive after paying for your purchase: An album that has been ultrasonically cleaned by my Degritter, a jacket that has been sleeved in a brand new 4 mil poly sleeve, the vinyl will be housed in a brand new Mofi sleeve, and all components will be carefully packaged in an LP mailer with the appropriate packaging. I will ship single albums using Media Mail with a flat rate of $5.00. If you purchase additional albums, I will add $1 per record(excluding double albums or box sets).
