This is an astonishingly rare item It has all the right credentials. Firstly, the buff card sleeve carries the BLACK title stamp - and not the blue or red of later issues. The record labels text is in LIGHT BLUE - not dark blue as in later issues. 11 INSERTS are present and in excellent condition. Of great interest is always the famous 'MARQUEE' poster which is often missing. This one has clearly never been stuck-up on a wall - and bears no tape marks. And if all this is not enough, the vinyl is an A1 / B1 ORIGINAL PRESS. One of the rarest!
Condition:
The buff card stapled sleve is excellent, with no tears, no creasing, no unwanted stickers or biro marks etc. Collectors will know that this soft card was always susceptible to damage and ageing stain. This one has some areas of age yellowing (nothing serious) and just very light handling traces. Otherwise it is superb.
**In 2003, the album was ranked number 170 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatesr albums of all time.**
**Released as Track 2406 001 on May 23, 1970. It reached #3 in the U.K. [and remained in the charts for 21 weeks, the longest for any Who LP in Britain.**
**Sleeve design by Graphreaks [It was designed to resemble a bootleg. A press release claimed that the emblem on the cover would be hand stamped by band members and others in the Track Records office.**
