Description
Another early 60s Dobell`s basement purchase, see file ref. & price written at the upper LH corner of the back of the thick card outer sleeve. The disc is in very good condition, with a few only very faint lines and plays perfectly. The outer sleeve is sound, without splits or tears, with one 12mm faint crease on the front near the slot. Clear tape, now removed, has resulted in staining, particularly on the back.
Tracks: Light Blue, Coming on the Hudson, Rhythm-a-ning, Epistrophy (theme), Blue Monk, Evidence, Epistrophy (theme). Personnel: Johnny Griffin Tenor, Monk Piano, Ahmed Abdul-Malik bass, Roy Haynes drums. Recorded at The Five Spot Cafe, New York City, August 1958.
Griffin`s performance on this album & Misterioso, prompted me later, to purchase two albums with him as leader.
