Description
Both record labels have 203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J. The same address is at the bottom of the back cover. Deep groove on both sides of the record. Also, "RVG" is inscribed in the dead wax. 5 tracks. Monk, piano on all 5 tracks. 1 track, recorded in 1953 also includes Sonny Rollins, tenor sax; Julius Watkins, French horn; Percy Heath, bas; Willie Jones, drums. 2 tracks with Sonny Rollins, leader, Monk, piano; Tommy Potter, bass; Art Taylor, drums. 2 tracks also includes Percy Heath, bass; Art Blakey, drums. The last 4 tracks were recorded in 1954.
Cover: VG(-) Intact with several scuff tear ma rks near the top edge. These were, probably, from an old price sticker. Small writing on the back cover, upper margin in red ink. Light aging on the back cover.
Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. The overall appearance is clean witha few spots that appear to be in the vinyl and not caused by wear. These do not affect the sound. There is slight groove noise on 1 or 2 short passages. This sound is barely audible. Also, 3 or 4 clicks that are random. I have included the (-) in the overall rating to adjust for the slight visual and audible remarks as described. Audibly checked.
