Description
Here is a GREAT Todd Rundgren LP. It’s “A Wizard, A True Star”. This is Bearsville Records BR2133 released in 1973. This is the PROMOTIONAL ISSUE of the LP. Most likely the record has a WHITE PROMO LABEL (as the LP is still sealed) due to the pink promotional sticker on the cover shrink and the VERY RARE PROMO INSERT visible on the rear cover that describes the concept of the LP, descriptions of the various cuts on the LP, and the recording and assisting personnel who contributed to the making of the LP. As you may know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were issued in very limited quantities and only made available to the DJs at the Radio Stations for on-air play. They were not made available to the general public. This makes them VERY sought after due to their rarity and limited quantities. This LP has 19 cuts on. Many are his own compositions which include “International Feel”, “Sometimes I Don’t Know How to Feel”, “Just One Victory”, “Does Anybody Love You” and many more. Others are renditions in the “Todd-style” such as “Never Never Land” and the Medley: “I’m So Proud”, “Ohh Baby Baby”, “La La Means I Love You” and “Cool Jerk”. It has become a LANDMARK Todd Rundgren LP due to its content and unique reversible die-cut cover. THIS LP (BOTH VINYL & COVER) IS IN MINT STILL SEALED CONDITION! The shrink wrap has a small split at the bottom and a little sticker residue at top right. It’s a GREAT PROMO LP that no vinyl collection should be without! FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (G for Good, VG for Very Good, VG+ for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY grade the LPs and 45s I auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
