Description
Tom Yates was born in 1944, in 1970 and in the late 60s and early 70s he could be seen playing the folk clubs and was a visitor to the famous Les Cousins club in London. He is probably best known for his LPs and appearances at the folk clubs in Cheshire and the North West. He ran the folk club at The White Horse in Disley, Cheshire where he lived and released three LPs, his first LP "Second City Spiritual" was released in 1967, his second LP, "Love Comes Well Armed" followed in 1973 on the President label. His third and final LP, "Song of the Shimmering Way" was released on the London based Satril Records label.He left England in 1980 for a life busking and performing in Holland and Belgium. Tom contracted bone marrow leukemia and died in Antwerp on 10th October 1993.
