Toni Harper singsOriginal 1st Press US LP released in 1956 on the Deep Groove Orange & Yellow Verve label with Verve Records Inc. on bottom of label. Cat: MGV2001. This album is in MONO.
These records are part of radio station 2UW's original record library. They have been in storage for the last 22 years and are finally seeing the light of day again. The LP's EP's & 45's discovered are all original 50's pressing. They were all stored in extra outer stiff cardboard covers which has helped preserve the picture sleeve covers and records which now date well over 50 years old!!! Mostly pre-rock N roll they include, Jazz, Country, Folk & 50's Pop and more.
Toni Harper's childhood was made of the magic any aspiring adult artist would kill for: a platinum record, a performance at Carnegie Hall, evenings spent sharing a stage with such performers as Cab Calloway, and invitations to appear on television with Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Milton Berle, and Ed Sullivan. And all of the magic unfolded before she'd turned 12 years old. Like many child stars, Harper's career slowed down as she began to mature. As a teenager, she was too old for the childhood image that had given her a great start, but too young to effectively take on a more adult image. The vocalist got her chance to sing the more adult songs when she recorded for Verve. In addition to "Love for Sale," Harper recorded such songs as "I Could Write a Book" and "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered." Backing Harper on her self-titled first recording for Verve were pianist Oscar Peterson, drummer Alvin Stoller, guitarist Herb Ellis, and bassist Ray Brown. Record has light scuff marks and a few very light scratches, there are some light crackles throughout. Record is in VG+ condition. Cover has stamps on front and back of cover, some light age spots and the start of a small seam spliton bottom centre edge. Cover is in VG+ condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
