Description

Tribal, Folk and Cafe Music of West Africa. Field Recordings, New York. 1950 Limited Edition set of 78RPM records. Only two thousand ever made. See Certificate inside volume l. 
Complete set of 12 records ( 4 in each volume, there are three volumes), plus 20 page booklet of text and commentaries, and 10 large black and white photographs, each is 8.5 " x 7.5", and a couple newspaper articles on this exclusive set. All inside a custom made sleeve. This is a definitive collection recorded and edited by Arthur S. Alberts.  Melville J. Herskovits and Richard Waterman, Dept. of Anthropology, Northwestern University. Duncan Emrich, Folkore Division, Library of Congress Marchall W. Stearns, Dept. of English, Cornell University. The vinyl is in good condition, some light scratches/smudges, they have been played.  Binders in very good/good condition, some light wear, scuffs, light marks. The booklet is in very good/good condition, some wear, few marks/stains on the cover. The photographs are very good, one has a crease on once corner. The sleeve has some wear, marks, scuffs. Please see pictures. The set weighs about 9 lbs. This is a hard to find out of print set.
