ELVIS PRESLEY
ROCK N ROLL NO.2
Released on His Masters Voice record label this is a MONO copy (they would've only made mono 1st copies) catalogue number CLP 1105
Year of release: 1957.
HMV logo at lower center on back cover with LONG at it's left and PLAY at it's right side 33 1/3 R.M.P. RECORD beneath the HMV logo. Front laminated flipback sleeve with WRW on back cover / right lower corner and
MADE AND PRINTED IN GREAT BRITIAN
MATRIX side one -- G2 WP 7207 2N
MATRIX side two -- G2 WP 7208 1N
These matrix endings show it is a very 1st UK pressing here.
Even the Mothers & Stampers are lovely and early: Side 1: 12/L Side 2: 1/GG
The condition:
As you can see with the images provided; the cover has some wear, but still remains intact (albeit with some tape) and would still frame well as the colours remain vibrant.
The vinyl is still as flat as the day she was born but does bear many light marks from playing here throughout the years-as it was intended! So, I popped her onto my deck and gave here a list to-all the way through-I found a simply wonderfully rich and warm audio playback. There was only a very minor and insignificant amount of light background noise-not particularly audible when Elvis gets signing and even warming in the very quiet areas.
The one point of note are the multiple skips to track 1, side 1...BUT Nowhere else.
Even comes with the ultra rare ORIGINAL HMV advertising inner with the "PATENTS PENDING" statement...VERY EARLY INDEED.
So folks..this is a very respectible rare 1st pressing copy of a great album, whic didn't sell many back in the day so remains very collectable today.
