Description
The incomparable UK Decca stereo SXL 2017, of Stravinsky's Fire Bird, conducted by Ernest Ansermet, with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. A propulsive performance, in great sound.
A hard-to-find UK grooved wide band ED1 "Original Recording by" pressing. Play-graded with a Grado 1042 cartridge--Music Hall MMF-5 TT. The disc looks great, with a few wispy scuffs here and there. These seem to have no effect on the sound, however, and it plays quietly at about the NM level.
The floppy scalloped sleeve is sharp-edged, crisp and bright--but with areas of yellowed dry tape residue on the back--so VG+. Original price tag is dated March, 1960.
New Acoustic Sounds inner sleeve added, and mylar outer sleeve.
