Carl King

Carl King was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Atlanta GA. There is not much info to be found online about him except that which is on the rear cover of this album sleeve.

However, we see that he was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Atlanta, GA which was pastored by Rev Bob Montgomery and his wife Wanda. Bob’s father was Rev. T.C Montgomery who was inspired to build a Christian home for homeless children. He began in 1951 by raising funds from across Mississippi to establish the home. The result of his labor was….The Tupelo Children's Mansion.

The Montgomery family were anointed music ministers back in the late 60s into the 70s. In addition to Carl King, Wanda, the church choir and their daughter, Brenda all released albums of their own.

Mrs. Wanda Montgomery age 89, passed away on May 13, 2021. Mrs. Montgomery was born in Lady Lake, FL. She was a member of Victory Life Tabernacle where she served as organist and in other areas in the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert Benjamin “Bob” Montgomery.

Mrs. Montgomery was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and pastor’s wife. She stood alongside of her late husband, the Rev. Bob Montgomery as he pastored the First Pentecostal Church of Atlanta, GA. for over 40 years. She served in many areas in the First Pentecostal Church of Atlanta. She led the choir, served as organist, and taught Sunday School. The choir under her leadership recorded 2 vinyl records and she personally made two recordings of her own. She travelled and played the piano for several professional gospel quartets beginning when she was teenager.
