Description: Of the few copies ever offered on eBay! ULTRA RARE obscurity from the tax scam record label MAGNA GLIDE RECORDS out of Great Neck, NY. This tax scam label was run by 1960s bubblegum pop hit makers Kasenetz and Katz; who produced and wrote hits for Question Mark & The Mysterians, Music Explosion and Tommy James. The label existed for the sole purpose to lose money for their tax purposes! It is remarkable that now some ultra rare local recordings exist, as these producers allegedly made efforts to sign and record real local artists, and the albums weren't cheaply made. This rare gem on LP is testament to that. It is a great recording of remarkably well written prog by skilled musicians that has captured an interesting creative spirit- considering the story of it's inception, and it's contrariety in the oddly didactic nature of how it came bout because of these two men. This record has still remained mostly unknown and unheard! It may have had no plans at all. This ALL instrumental album comes from a Long Island power trio of John Eckard on drums, Peter Martinez on bass and Richard Hofman on guitar. it's heavy, creative progressive rock Americana with a British rock and surf sounding psychedelic eastern guitar style.

A quote from the Cd Reissue Wishlist blog states "Somehow, this album is simultaneously anachronistic and way ahead of its time, so I'm going to assume that it was actually the work of time travelers. Very mysterious..." While I would certainly agree, PARADOX is far more talented than WYLD STALLYNS, thankfully. Perhaps they weren't time travelers, but time "sensitive" psychics. Imaginative and young dreamers, but also serious artisans with real talent who these tax crooks managed to catch and document for us. They captured a truly fantastic and illustrative sonic picture of their garage band glory! The rock and roll dreams of a young optimistic group juiced with the steroids of these tax scamming music producers! Really fun sound and spirit to this LP.

The print runs and label information on distribution an promotion are unknown. Some posts online tout this as one of the most strange and obscure tax scam record releases of all time, since it has remained largely unknown by collectors for so long. The music on this peculiarity is fun, reminiscent of the twin guitar stylings of Wishbone Ash, or The F*cking Champs! and also UK instrumental group Automatic Fine Tuning, this records place is perhaps like a movie or ridiculous TV show where 3 talented/imaginative prog fans from Long Island, NY gain access to a great studio and real producers who had no expectations, because of their marginal and perhaps non existent plans for an actual release. It offers a sociological study, or time capsuled view on the creative endeavors and behaviors of these 3 local prog musicians from LI, NY in 1977. Some really heavy parts out of left field with killer guitar tone. The players are great, and the compositions are top notch, reminiscent of great early 70s UK prog and psych from obscure to popular acts from the genre. At times very heavy parts with some pop sensibility, with that fun crushing guitar tone! Instrumental sounding video game racing game music at times! Really sweet instrumental Eastern style guitar rock, with surf/psych vibe too.
