Description

1970 UK LP Charisma CAS 1027 'H to HE, Who am the Only One', pink label in gatefold sleeve. Matrices are CAS 1027 A-1U / B-1U for sides A & B respectively.
The gatefold sleeve is made of strong card with no seam splits rips, tears or writing. It has a tad of edge wear and corner rubs and some colour loss on the matt sleeve which is very common. An old price sticker has to stay as removal would tear the sleeve. So the inside is very clean with the outer showing some blemishes thus overall I rate the sleeve 7.5 /10, essentially due to the cosmetic condition.
As for the paper inner sleeve it's die-cut on one side and is in nice clean condition.

On to the flat and shiny disc which weighs 138g on my scale. The labels are clean as pictured yet with some minor mottling of the pink colour. The holes are tight and I'm looking for signs of 'spindle snail tracks' to determine what amount of play the disc has had but there's not much in evidence. Maybe a few spins, maybe several but certainly nothing excessive.
I'm now angling the record in room light at the window and it looks good. Under a searching LED light I see some light hairlines and scuffs so visually I give the disc 7.5 /10.
Next is a playtest on my Linn / Naim hi-fi system. I hear some ticks but it plays well so aurally I rate the vinyl 7.5 /10 also.
