“Original 1962 first pressing on Hull Records. No known reissues.
Collector’s Note: This original 1962 Hull Records pressing is a rare glimpse into the under-documented corners of doo-wop and early R&B. Your Favorite Singing Groups (HULL-1002) features obscure tracks from vocal groups whose recordings never made it to 45s, making this LP their sole documented release. The machine-stamped matrix numbers (XTV-85126 1A / XTV-85127 1A) confirm first-generation stampers, and the clean mono mix preserves the raw vocal harmonies that defined the era.
Condition – Jacket: Original 1962 sleeve retains a nice gloss with minimal ring wear visible only when angled under light. Back cover shows light aging discoloration consistent with vintage storage. No writing, stickers, or seam splits. Spine is clean and in excellent condition. Corners show some softening; please refer to photos for detail. Overall, a well-preserved example with strong shelf appeal and archival integrity.
Condition – Vinyl: Side 1 is exceptionally clean—no visible scuffs or scratches, retains a beautiful shine. Side 2 shows a light scuff near 5 o’clock and a faint cosmetic mark between 2 and 3 o’clock: three subtle black lines that blend into the vinyl surface. These do not affect playback. Record plays through beautifully with strong mono fidelity and minimal surface noise. Labels are clean with no writing, stickers, or spindle marks. Side 2 shows a small ink mark near the spindle hole—likely from a missed marker touch. Visually graded a strong VG+
