THE VELVET UNDERGROUND AND NICO (Verve V-5008, mono)

• Condition : Cover is VG+ to VG++. Banana sticker is all there, there is slight rub wear from years of storage and slight bit of fraying to the very tip of stem. Cutout drillhole lower left. Light overall wear. Top rear seam split about 4" at pocket opening. Spine, other seams and inner gatefold are pretty nice. Original back cover with Eric Emerson visible in the light-show projection above the band. Vinyl is VG to VG+ on side one, basically this is due to a few little marks here and there, mainly on "Femme Fatale" and "Venus In Furs", which make a few light clicks and pops. Side two is a strong VG+, mainly just some surface scuffs. Overall this copy plays very well, mostly VG++ or better, with some of it playing NM.
• Description : Rare 1967 mono original of the infamous "banana" album. If you are reading this, most likely you know all the details of the music, the songs, the mono mix, the peelable Andy Warhol cover design, etc. Not for mint freaks but a very decent copy for the title, and mint examples are headed into the stratosphere price-wise. Also, mint copies of this record tend to be noisy to begin with (it's a long record, it was mastered at a low volume so they could fit everything into the grooves, and MGM/Verve's mastering and pressing facilities were substandard / somewhat obsolete even for 1967) so forking out the extra bucks for mint vinyl isn't necessarily going to get you a much quieter playing example. Reserve is $350 and reflects what I have into this one. I also have a VU "What Goes On"/"Jesus" 7" up for bids this week.

You cannot return a record simply because you don't like the music.
• Records are shipped in a cardboard record mailer with sufficient padding, and the disc is removed from the jacket to prevent seamsplits.
