Rare Beatles Get LP
You are bidding a rare Beatle Record! The Get Back album was scheduled for release in July of 1969 that utilizes the mix by famed British producer Glyn Johns. This mix was never officially released and only the recent release of Let It Be Naked comes close to the vision The Beatles had of releasing their music "as nature intended.” Needless to say the decision was made to shelve the project until famed American Phil Spector got his hands on the mixing board and a few dozen string players and chorale singers. This disc is interesting for a variety of reasons. First of all it appears that it was a copy that was mailed to Richard DiLello who started working at Apple Records as the house hippie and graduating to the press office working with Derek Taylor. The mailer shows the date of the mailing and cancelled postage. Secondly, the record has the original Get Back cover design and a folded poster of the same inside! Also included is a press release detailing the track listing. Beyond all this, the record is pressed on blue vinyl...very interesting indeed! Speaking of the vinyl, which is in near mint condition, hand etched in the trail off portion of the disc are the words Geoff and George indicating that engineer Geoff Emerick and fabled producer George Martin had their hands into this unique pressing! When all is said and done, this disc appears to be extremely rare and will be a prized possession to some other avid Beatle collector. Everything is in near mint condition excepting the mailing sleeve which has signs of wear and tear from traveling through the British postal system. The pictures tell the rest of the story so happy bidding on this piece of Beatle history!
