Rare reissue with green Capitol labels...

Beautiful green labels are nr mint.

Record is VG...alot of paper scuffs and scratches thruout the LP seen in bright light...thick vinyl, not the new thin stuff...also has a really nice shine...

Side 1 is about 25% better than side 2 as far as scuffs and scratches.

Side 1 sounds VG with very little background noise even between tracks, except for 1 factory flaw (a dimple) at the beginning of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"  which causes a stop (you'll have to move the needle to continue)...sad.

Note: I use a  Technics 1200 MK2 with a Shure M97xE cartridge / needle, tracking set at a low 1.5. You may have a heavier setting on your record player, therefore you may not have a stop.

Side 2 sounds VG+ considering the paper scuffs and scratches...no skips, I'm amazed!

It's all in my thourough record cleaning process!

Jacket is VG+...rear of jacket, top portion, has been neatly clear taped, barely noticed the tape, good job!

Bright and clean colors...no writings...no record ring wear...just a bit of outer edge wear.

includes 3 mil clear outer jacket cover, no more edge wear.

Overall, the value is in the nr mint rare Capitol green labels and the very nice jacket.

Actually the labels have nothing to do with the retailer, Target as some people have thought.

Here's the story...

 

Capitol's green label was first issued in July, 1969. It sports a new Capitol logo: a "C" surrounding a record. At about the time when the green label was discontinued, (c. May, 1971), the Beatles catalog was switched onto the Apple label.

Reissues of earlier LP’s were not pressed by every factory on the green label. Since the factory at Scranton was being phased out, the factory was dropped from pressing reissue LP's, having been replaced by Winchester. The latest of the first-run green-label albums were numbered in the 670's, although some albums appeared on the green label during the red label run.

The trademark registration can be found in one of two configurations:either as TM to the right of the word "Capitol" or as (R) underneath the l in "Capitol." #LP11

 

This record has been Professionally Cleaned and Polished...and includes a new anti static poly lined record sleeve...

My cleaning Process...

I use both... VPI 16.5  and  Nitty Gritty 2.5FI-XP  professional cleaning machines with vacuum systems, using only high tech professional cleaning fluids and ultra pure water rinse…

First Step: I use a DAK's Anti Static Carbon Fiber Brush to remove surface dust deep in the grooves.

Second Step: using the  VPI 16.5  and  MOFI Pure Enzyme Cleaner along with a MOFI fluid applicator and then brush with a KAB disc sweep, then vacuum that old crud off…

Note: For an absolutely fealthy record, I may use MOFI Super Deep Cleaner...then MOFI Pure Enzyme Cleaner...then Disc Doctor (as a neautralizer)...then proceed to steps 3, 4 and 5. 

Third Step: using the Nitty Gritty 2.5FI-XP  and Nitty Gritty Pure 2 Rinse to remove all traces of the previous cleaner, and it also continues to clean the record and remove any remaining crud, then vacuum. Fourth Step: using the Nitty Gritty 2.5FI-XP, and MOFI Pure Record Rinse (ultra pure water), I rinse and vacuum one more time!

5th Step: I coat the record with Gruv Glide...

"GRUV GLIDE brings you closer to the LIVE performance! GRUV GLIDE not only increases the fidelity of the record, but also reduces surface noise, removes static, and cleans the record. The treated record and cartridge stylus will last longer due to the increased tracking ability and reduced friction. One application lasts for an indefinite period of time."

GRUV GLIDE: lightly spray onto the very soft pad (included in kit), then buff the record until the record is totally dry!

Now the record is clean, ultra clean! So, now it will get a brand new poly sleeve, why? Never put a cleaned record back into it’s dirty old sleeve. Note: you will get the original too if available, placed away from the record.

Note: you should not have to clean this record for a long time, possibly never, as long as you use a dry brush between plays!

I highly recommend  DAK's Anti Static Carbon Fiber Brush!
