Description
Gorgeous NM copy of the 1998 DCC Compact 180 gram Analogue pressing of Van Halen's debut album from 1978. Long out of print, and very hard to find in a short matter of time back then, this pressing is the definitive mastering job done by Steve Hoffman - the Zen Master of remixing and remastering music in the 90's and early 2000's. I believe he is still at it today. It is a limited edition numbered (1546) copy that is complete with original packaging and stickers. Its all there. The music explodes out of your speakers in clarity and definition that will put chill bumps on your arms and neck!
The guitar of Eddie Van Halen changed rock and roll for ever. I can remember sitting on Main Street of my home town back then and every car driven by a young person that would go by would have this blaring from their speakers. I have a 50K system with a high end Classic Turntable and a $1500 stylus that hides nothing. This record may be open, but its perfect in every way. Not only am I offering you this rare numbered NM package that has been played maybe 4 times at most, I am also including the 2006 RTI test pressing of the same master tapes.
Test pressings are exceedingly rare with somewhere between 10-20 pressings at most being created. That means you usually just don't find one unless for an insanely high price after a period of time, and you usually have to know some one to get one when new. I have had my connections over the years and have a good number of very rare test pressings from DCC and other labels. RTI did the pressings for DCC from the start. This one is unplayed and minty new.
Just think of the collectability of this set! Not only does this opportunity not come along very often, it just doesn't happen at all! I am getting older and am thinning out my collection. Check out all of my Led Zeppelin Collection I am selling including a lot of first pressings and 200 gram lps that are still sealed, or have been played maybe two or three times at most. Love a few of their songs, but just not into them as a whole anymore. Guitar licks here and there yes, but not as a complete work or theme. I just don't listen to these and its time to thin out the collection.
