"Van Halen" is the debut studio album by American rock band Van Halen. The album was released on February 10, 1978 on the Warner Bros., label. The album initially peaked a #19 on the US Billboard Albums Chart, en route to selling over ten million copies alone by 1999, (RIAA diamond status). "Van Halen" contains many of Van Halen's signature songs, including "Runnin' with the Devil", the guitar solo "Eruption", the Kinks cover of "You Really Got Me", "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love", "Jamie's Cryin'" and "Ice Cream Man". Each of these songs remain a staple on rock radio. Shortly after its release, "Van Halen" became regarded as one of rock and roll's greatest debut albums by both fans and critics. In 2003, Rolling Stone, listed it among "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time", at #415. In 2013, Rolling Stone also listed the album at #27 of the 100 Best Debut Albums of All Time. In 2006, Guitar World readers ranked it #7 on a list of the Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time. This is one of the few records I still remember hearing for the very first time....it was (and still is) amazing to hear that "sound" coming from a guitar player. There was nothing like it to compare to. This is the 1978 (Very Rare) ORIGINAL-NOT RE-ISSUE-US VINYL PRESSING on the Warner Bros., label. It is SEALED and in Near Mint Condition. The shrink is missing in a couple places due to age, but is still considered SEALED. The catalog # on the spine is: BSK 3075. There is no bar code matrix #.
