Description

Victor Artists Party and Music Festival – early trial LP – RCA Victor Program Transcription DL-5 1933

Side A contains selections by Frank Crumit, The Revelers, Victor Arden and Phil Ohman

Side B contains orchestral selections by the Victor Symphony Orchestra: Meistersinger Overture, Songs My Mother Taught Me, Flight of the Bumble Bee and Marche Slav.  Both sides conducted by Nathaniel Shilkret; Condition V-; 1933 release. These early attempts at marketing a long playing record took place at the height of the Depression and required purchasing a new phonograph. A luxury few could afford.  In addition, many of these records have unusually noisy surfaces and at times awkward dubbing from existing 78 rpm recordings. Rare promotional disc.
