WALT DISNEY’S SLEEPING BEAUTY LP
DISNEYLAND RECORDS # WDL 4018 SP
Promotional only record album given to a select few radio and TV stations for airplay in 1959. This LP was not commercially available for sale.
The back of the cover reads “This disc is especially designed for the radio and television industry. Side One contains music from the original soundtrack or arrangements in keeping with the lush, rich tradition of the picture. Side Two includes pop tunes based on themes from the film. In both cases the songs we believe are most outstanding are on either the outside or inside bands, to make for easier spinning on the air. Note: We have one small request! We urge that you program Side One of this LP immediately and that you defer programming Side Two, which contains the popular arrangements of the Tchaikovsky melodies, until the release date of the Vista singles; that is, until February 23, 1959.”.
The record labels, front cover, and back cover all read SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL RECORD.
