Description
THE WARLOCKS - BOOTLEG ALBUM BY THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF THE GRATEFUL DEAD
Label: "The Eleven Records"
Date: 1970's (?)
For Rod "P" McKernan
This bootleg LP was recorded, probably at a concert, on May 3, 1965, in Los Angeles. Later in 1965, the Grateful Dead was formed. The photo on the album cover features members of the Warlocks who were also the original members of the Grateful Dead: Jerry Garcia, Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh (last to join the Warlocks before they became the Grateful Dead) and Rod "Pig Pen" McKernan, to whom this record is dedicated. The labels on the record are blank, but the titles on the record are listed on the back of the jacket. McKernan died in 1973, so the date of this record is after that year, but I have no idea when this item originally appeared.
The fold out jacket is in Good/Very Good condition; it is made of thinner material than "real" album covers, and, consequently, the covers has some edge and corner wear. However, the jacket is mostly undisturbed otherwise, and it is mostly clean and has reflective surfaces. The album is in Very Good Plus condition with minimal general wear.
