Every Tuesday between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm (European Time) I will offer old punk records. My name is ‘punky_music’
Killer punk from the West Coast. Here’s your chance to get a legendary punk classic from Los Angeles. Original first pressing, released on cult label ‘Dangerhouse’ records in 1978 (catalogue number SP 1063). It is also one of the hardest to find ‘Dangerhouse’ singles. eBay prices: $150 + $173 + $148 (US). With the band is Nicky Beat of Hardcore/Punk band FUNERAL (Waiting For A Bomb Blast). Nicky also used his drum sticks for the GERMS single (Lexicon Devil). Both WEIRDOS tracks are real crackers, especially ‘We Got The Neutron Bomb. We’re Gonna Drop It All Over The Place. Your Gonna Get It In Your Face’. ‘Solitary Confinement’ on the flip is also a true all-time classic from California. As you know, label mates are the DEADBEATS (Kill The Hippies) AVENGERS (We Are The One) BAGS (Survive) RANDOMS (Let’s Get Rid Of New York) and X (Adult Books). As additional, here’s the comment from the great FLEX book (US Hardcore/Punk discography):
- One of the best Dangerhouse releases; powerful, driving and melodic 77-style LA punk. A side is noisy and loud, almost in a hardcore style, but with a catchy chorus - a true hit. The B side is, well, a B side, solid music but not as good as the A side. A classic. [9]
- Ein typischer Dangerhouse-Reißer, fetziger, melodischer 77er-Punk mit viel Drive und Power. Die A-Seite ist ein echter Hit; sehr krachig und laut (in dieser Beziehung eigentlich schon Hardcore), andererseits aber mit einer tollen, eingängigen Ohrwurm-Melodie, die das Ganze wieder sehr hörbar macht. Kult. Die B-Seite ist nur eine B-Seite… gut, aber nicht umwerfend.

Mailing / Versand: alle Platten werden in einer neutralen weißen 7“ Hülle außerhalb des Plattencovers verschickt, um Beschädigungen am Originalcover zu vermeiden (all records will be sent in plain white 7“ sleeves outside of the picture sleeves to avoid any seam splits). Ebenso werden alle Platten entsprechend stabil in speziellen Schallplatten-Versandkartons mit zwei dicken Pappkartons verpackt (all records will be shipped in special record mailers, two cardboard paddings (the best) will be used to avoid bending).
