Description

This is a very fine copy of a numbered, limited edition archival LP of previously unreleased 1969 recordings by Minneapolis group White Lightning.  The group was formed by guitarist Zippy Caplan after he left the Litter.  They released a 45 in 1968 that was subsequently picked up by the Atco label, then released an LP in 1970 under the shortened name Lightning.  The recordings here were released for the first time on this LP.  They are mostly in a heavy psych vein, and feature versions of songs from the Litter's second LP ("(Under the Screaming Double) Eagle") and the group's 1970 LP ("Prelude to Opus IV").  Two versions of this LP were released, a regular pressing of 750 copies and this limited edition pressing of 100 copies with individually made jackets.  The jackets have copies of the U.K. Vertigo label's swirl design in various sizes pasted on, with the group's name and a band photo pasted over them on the front cover.  The jacket of this copy is close to pristine with light creasing in one corner (M-).  The record is hand numbered 11/100 on the back cover (see photo).  The disc is clean, and plays like new -- M(-).

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
