Description
Here's an extremely rare original reference acetate for the 1971 first US release of the astounding debut LP by White Noise. It's a Capitol acetate, as this was the beginning of the brief period in which Island was distributed by Capitol in the US. Interestingly, while the LP was the US release was ultimately assigned the catalog number SW-9303, this disc is labeled as SMAS-9303; this suggests that it was originally intended to be released with a gatefold cover ("SMAS" being the catalog prefix for Capitol Music Group gatefolds). The disc is in VG+ condition with some light surface scuffs. Playback is very strong throughout, though there is a bit of crackle at the very start of the first track.
