Description
Beautiful high-quality like-new limited edition LP box set: WILLIAM ONYEABOR, VOLUME 2 - Includes MP3 download card, 4 LPs (Crashes In Love (second version) from '77, Body And Soul from '80, Hypertension from '82, and Good Name from '83), 16 page booklet by Michael Rubin, and a bonus 7" single of William Onyeabor's "Body & Soul" by Peaking Lights; issued by Luaka Bop / Wilfilms Ltd, in 2014. Limited to 3000 hand numbered copies.
Onyeabor is a funk musician from Nigeria, whose songs are often heavily rhythmic and synthesized, occasionally epic in scope, with lyrics decrying war, that are sung by both Onyeabor himself and female backing vocalists. He self-released 8 albums between 1977 and 1985 (mainly on the Luaka Bop label) and released one more album in 2013. His music goes well beyond just funk, blending many musical styles - Afro funk, boogie, reggae, experimental, synth, disco, electronic, moog, psych, and soul.
Condition: MINT/MINT (still sealed in the original cellophane, but with a few small tears to the cellophane).
