Description

Wolfgang Dauner / Eberhard Weber / Jurgen Karg / Fred Bracefu “Fur” LP issued by Calig (CAL 30 603) in Germany, 1969. Original black labels first press in gatefold sleeve. ***** Rec:ex / Cov:ex ****** This is one of the most obscure and accomplished albums composed by Wolfgang Dauner and performed along with other German Free Jazz pioneers Eberhard Weber, Jürgen Karg and American musician Fred Braceful. These players have in their own right forged active and prolific Avant-Garde Jazz careers with many other well known musicians. They were among some of the earliest musicians to be produced on Manfred Eicher’s ECM label. Essentially it is a very experiment album that clearly demonstrates their musical skills and preparedness to venture into the far-out, not to mention their ability to have a bit of fun, clearly shown in the last tune where Fred cracks up. Wolfgang Dauner (Trombone, Piano,Organ, Violin, Vocals); Eberhard Weber (Bass,Vocals, Cello); Jurgen Karg (Vocals); Fred Braceful (Drums, Vocals, Percussion). This LP is sometimes referred to as "Für" as that appears on the cover, however it simply the beginning of the list of dedications which take up the entire cover. Recorded Tonstudio Bauer, Ludwigsburg April 29th, 1969. Track A5 is a private recording in Saarbrücken on the 3rd April, 1969 with Christoph Klein at the amplifier section and with Dr. Theodor Klein who supervised the stereophonic tone control and recording both interfaced directly and independently in the music performance. The piece brings a stereophonic confrontation and mixture of real sound and sound alienated by use of contract microphone and amplifier installation. One of the most adventurous and experimental records in Dauner discography, as fundamental as “Output”! ****** Liner notes in English and German. ****** Record looks unplayed. Plays with minimal surface noise. ****** Lamination starts to peel off but nothing bad and no parts missing (see pictures). ****** Please wait to receive my invoice before sending the payment after the auction ends.
