Description

This is a portion of what was a V-Disc 15 record 78RPM album produced by the War Department about 1944, of music by American composers, in live performance.   Included in this album are 8 of the original 15 discs, which contain:  Ernest Bacon: From These States (on 4 sides) with NBC Symphony, Leon Barzin; Morton Gould: American Salute with Frank Black & NBC, and Hanson: Merry Mount aria with Lawrence Tibbett & Orch(on 2 sides)., Pelletier; Barber: School for Scandal Ovt with Janssen Orchestra(on 2 sides); Grofe: Grand Canyon Suite with Toscanini and NBC from a 1943 broadcast(on 6 sides), and Wilder: Piece for Strings with Columbia Orchestra, Frank Sinatra(on 2 sides).  All the discs are pressed on vitrolac plastic, and are in excellent condition.  .
