Issued in 1957.
Uncommon original by highly influential r&b and blues performer. Her birth certificate shows she was born in Ariton Alabama but she always claimed to have been born in MONTGOMERY ALABAMA.
This record was bootlegged in England some years back and that bootleg reissue turns up on ebay a lot. I'm offering, however, the 1957 original (which shows the publisher's name on the labels). And an "advance promotional" edition of the original at that!
Record graded by actually listening to both sides with a mono record player. Using Spin Connection's grading policy for 45 rpm records, it would rate EXCELLENT on both sides - both aurally and visually. Both sides look really good with just the slightest rubbing. The labels show modest wear and rubbing (MY MAN CALLED ME shows almost none). I have been grading records and selling records successfully by mail since 1962. Record enclosed in contemporaneous BUT NOT ORIGINAL somewhat worn sleeve. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ (the fine print ... I have been selling and shipping rare records since 1961. I'm not sure if ANY OTHER RECORD DEALER on ebay can beat that record of longevity!
