This is a great opportunity for collectors of Churchill memorabilia

On offer for the first time good condition and rare package of “Winston S. Churchill: His Memoirs and His Speeches, 1918 to 1945” in the original Decca Record Company box/slip case. While the outer package shows some sign of storage marks the TWELVE 12” vinyl disks/ records are as new and un-played.

There is also an accompanying book with lots of photographs in overall very good condition. The cover of the book is detached from the spine and a restorer could easily reattach it. The pages are in mint condition.

The rare 1964 UK Decca Catalogue No. WSC 1-12 -12-LP vinyl box set featuring unique picture labels with Churchill’s image and is issued in a die-cut sleeve with facsimile signature of Winston Churchill in the top right corner.

This was quite a hefty tribute to Churchill, and is quite a trove for Churchill scholars and collectors.

An amazing man, and amazing leader, all contained in a unique and beautiful collection . A must-have for any fan of Winston Churchill or any political historian looking to hear the speeches of his that are on these vinyl records.  12 records and 24 sides all together.

During his long public life, Winston Churchill played many roles worthy of historical note - member of Parliament for more than half a century, distinguished soldier and war correspondent, author of scores of books, ardent social reformer, combative cold warrior, Nobel Prize winner, painter. But Churchill's enduring preeminence owes perhaps most to his remarkable oratory. Of Churchill, Edward R. Murrow said: "He mobilised the English language and sent it into battle”. When Churchill was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953, the Swedish Academy celebrated him "for brilliant oratory in defending exalted human values."

This set captures much of that brilliant oratory.

Many Hardcover and Soft Cover similar items are for sale on-line and in book and record shops, but these are generally in used condition and in the case of the LP records, played.

On offer is a rare opportunity to own a very good Collectible item that has never been used.

Published by the Decca Record Company Limited, London in 1964, “Winston S. Churchill: His Memoirs and His Speeches, 1918 to 1945” comprises a commemorative book with and twelve 12” LP’s together with a decorative slip case.

The Outer slipcase labeling is in relief and is aged intentionally but in very good condition.

All records are in fine sleeves as well as inner sleeves - all Mint.

Each record has never been played. Each LP has recordings of Churchill's speeches spanning 1918-1945, Each record is housed in its own paper sleeve nested within its own cardboard sleeve in grey, all 12 records then nested within a larger sleeve integral to the two-part case.

This collection’s LP 12” Vinyl records are on the original DECCA label – not the later London Records version offered elsewhere

Included is a booklet, issued with the set and is a 58-page profusely illustrated, captioned and stapled booklet which catalogues the speech for each LP plus the cover with an appraisal by historian Sir Arthur Wynne Morgan Bryant (1899-1985). 

The whole package is housed in a slide-out elaborate slipcase record box with rounded gold printed and outer slipcase box with raised silver decorative front panel print. The box has some storage marks. The slipcase is sturdy and the set is on the whole in good condition.
