An early 1964 contract pressing by Decca for Parlophone as they were struggling to cope with the phenomenal public demand for the Beatles. Matrix -7N/-7N. The record comes housed in an original flip-back cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. This is a seriously well preserved copy.
Vinyl (Ex+) In remarkable condition whichever way you look at it. Shiny like new and has clearly only seen minimal use. Under close inspection we can only make out a couple of ultra-light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A through testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity and practically no interference. We only detected a couple of lights static crackles in a couple of isolated moments - that really is all...and that is very very unusual. Decca were no slouches when it came to decent pressings and this copy is a perfect example of their ability. The audio quality is spectacularly good and because it is well preserved you will be listening to that unadulterated sound just as if it was 1964 all over again.
Cover (Ex-) Well preserved again with a lovely shiny front cover largely free of laminate lift or nasty creases. The rear is exhibiting some light age spots, but nothing really that stands out. Edge wear is light and the spine is fully intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a fantastic specimen.
Emitex (Ex) No splits and very little ageing either. The LP will come housed in an Exstatic inner sleeve.
