Description
The Beatles, With The Beatles, Mono 1st pressing with original E. J. Day flip back sleeve, Emitex inner and labels featuring: Yellow Parlophone with silver writing, The Parlophone Co... written on the outer edge, no “Sold in U.K” text, “Recording first Published in 1963” written over two lines, “jobete” credit for “Money” (Side 2 Track 7), and “You really Gotta Hold on Me” on both label (Side 1 Track 5) and rear of sleeve (replaced by “Got A” on later pressings).
Matrix Numbers are: Side 1: XEX 447-1N Side 2: XEX 448-1N
Sleeve:
E. J. Day sleeve in Ex condition. Front retains original mirror-like sheen, free from blemishes or discolouring, and without creasing or bubbling to the laminate covering. The rear is exceptionally clean with only a slight discolouration to the top right corner - otherwise remarkably white for a record of this age. There is a slight fold to the bottom flip back that is extremely common with Day sleeves as often came like this out of the factory. Corners are strong but there is slight rounding. Overall a great sleeve that has been carefully looked after.
Vinyl:
Vinyl is in VG+ condition retaining original gloss sheen. The playback is more accurately graded as Ex, however I have graded as such because visually the record is VG+ due to surface marks to both sides. The sound is extremely clear; the vocals are crisp and the guitar and percussion punchy and vivid. The surface marks are not audible, the record plays without jumping or skipping, and there is very little background noise on quiet sections and in between tracks. It’s a real pleasure to listen to. The labels have not been written on, retain their original bright colours and have very little spindle ware.
Inner Sleeve:
Original lined emitex inner sleeve in VG+ condition, without and rips or tears, however there is a small crease to one corner and some discolouration.
This is a great copy for the collector and listener.
