This is part of a series of 12” albums were released under the sponsorship of the Publishers Service Company, an arm of the New York Post newspaper as a Music Appreciation project promoted nationwide. These albums were recorded on a very low budget but using performers from major orchestras and conductors who either were or would become renown and were willing to record for very little payment and with no label credit. Excellent performances and recordings overall. This album contains a recording of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 2 and 3 and was recorded on November 12, 1938 at the Academy of Music, Philadelphia and released on 3 discs. The 49 piece orchestra was conducted by Eugene Ormandy and includes instrumental soloists Alexander Hilsberg, Saul Caston, William Kincaid and Marcel Tabuteau. The discs are in N- condition and the album cover is V, slightly worn with some rusting at the rivets. Program notes are included. (Recording information by Michael R.
