Hello!
Up for sale is the mega-rare psych folk band Yahowha 13's original 1974 pressing of "I'm Gonna Take You Home" with the graphic gatefold cover, courtesy of Father Yod and his faithful followers, including Sunlight, AKA Sky Saxon, from the classic psych rock band The Seeds. This album is a true cult classic in every sense as most people looking at this listing will know. Its members are all from Father Yod's cult The Source Family, founded in 1973 in the Hollywood Hills. According to Wikipedia, "Yahowha 13 was Father Yod's Signature band. He said that its music would continue his teachings (by the words he used) long after he was gone... And it has held true - as the music held a cult underground following all these years and now the next generation has embraced it." This also from Wikipedia: "The original LP pressings of all incarnations of Ya Ho Wha 13 are now very rare and highly valued by music collectors." This particular album pressed on the Higher Key label was limited to only 500 copies and was sold out of Father Yod's popular Source Restaurant. You truly are not likely to see this again, so DON'T MISS OUT. Note: All reissues are single album versions, so this is the only way to hear this in it's full glory! A note about my grading: I think the Goldmine grading system leaves far too many gaps, so while I use that as a base, I have my own system. The difference between VG+ and NM should have way more steps between it than 1. I've graded tens of thousands of records, and you definitely need a bigger range than VG+ to NM (I consider anything less than VG+ to be not even worth owning unless it's so rare that it's all you have until a listenable record can replace it). Please read below.
VINYL GRADING:
SS ~ Sealed records : Still sealed in original shrink wrap
MINT : Pristine, perfect and flawless. Usually reserved for sealed records
NM ~ NEAR MINT : The record should show no obvious signs of wear. The very slightest signs of use, truly near mint. May have a few slight paper scuffs on the vinyl that shuldn't affect play.
EX+ : The record will show some signs that it was played and handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. There should be no obvious defects (Scratches/Warps). Just a tiny step below NM
EX : Light use is evident, either slight needle marks or scuffs. This grade record is still an exceptional play copy.
VG++ : Use is evident but not bad. Record has some marks , very light scratches, though not feelable. Will definitely play through with no skips.
VG+ : Average used record, looks OK, plays OK, some noise is possible. Some scratches, may be feelable, but will still play without skipping. Record was played but was reasonably cared for.
VG : Vinyl has some groove wear or several scratches or some significant scratches. This record will play with noise that does not overwhelm the music.
G : Significant surface noise, scratches, visible groove wear , may skip or repeat.
Grades for covers: M : perfect. no wear, square flat corners, solid seams, spine etc., Usually sealed NM : overall appearance of front and back near perfect but may have a very small problem such as a small corner ding/couple tiny spine chips, but nothing noticeable without close inspection. EX : as above, nice "un-handled" feel, but may have more spine wear, a bent or dinged corner or two, very light ring wear, but rarely any splits or tears. VG+: Between VG and EX (usually closer to an EX grade), NO major seem splits over a an inch or two, No visible water damage. Edge chipping and smaller splits possible, ring wear, and small name or writing possible but should be noted. VG: Still has a decent overall appearance, but may have split seams, spine splits, tears, staining, water damage, or other fault VG- to G: Significant wear.
