Yes first achieved success in the 1970s with a progressive, art and symphonic style of rock music. They are distinguished by their use of mystical and cosmic lyrics, live stage sets, and lengthy compositions, often with complex instrumental and vocal arrangements. Nine of their twenty studio albums have reached the top ten in either the UK or US, with two reaching number one in the UK. They have sold 13.5 million certified units in the US.[2] Nineteen people in total have been a part of the band's line-up, including Swiss, South African,American, Russian, and Canadian members. The band's most recent line-up consists of singer Jon Davison, guitarist Steve Howe, bass guitarist Billy Sherwood, keyboardist Geoff Downes, and drummer Alan White.

Close to the Edge is the fifth studio album from the English progressive rock band Yes, released in September 1972 on Atlantic Records. Following their success with Fragile(1971), Yes began to produce extended pieces which resulted in Close to the Edge, an album formed of three tracks with the 18-minute title track occupying side one and "And You and I" and "Siberian Khatru" on side two. When recording for the album finished, drummer Bill Bruford had grown tired of the band's style and song writing methods and left to join King Crimson.

Released three months into its supporting tour, Close to the Edge was a commercial and critical success for the band. It peaked at number 3 in the United States and number 4 in the United Kingdom. "And You and I" was released as a single that reached number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album is certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over one million copies.

Close To The Edge was released on 13 September 1972 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever recorded. Inspired by Siddharta and their “state of mind” at the time, Yes’s 5th album is widely regarded as their masterpiece. The Gold-certified work remains a crowning achievement in the band’s illustrious career. It reached the Top Ten in both the U.K. and in the U.S., where it spent thirty-two weeks on the charts. Close To The Edge includes the epic standout ‘And You And I.’ Guitar World named it one of their ‘100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time.’ This flawless classic is also included in the book, ‘1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die’.

E. J. Korvette, also known as Korvettes, was an American chain of discount department stores, founded in 1948 in New York City. It is notable as one of the first department stores to challenge the suggested retail price provisions of anti-discounting statutes.[1] Founded by World War II veteran Eugene Ferkauf and his friend, Joe Zwillenberg, E.J. Korvette did much to define the idea of a discount department store. It displaced earlier five and dime retailers and preceded laterdiscount stores, like Walmart, and warehouse clubs such as Costco.[1]
