ZOOT SIMS AND BOB BROOKMEYER – TONITE’S MUSIC TODAY – STORYVILLE 907 – VG - MONO
Recorded on January 31, 1956, this Storyville session features Zoot Sims on Tenor, Bobby Brookmeyer on valve trombone, Hank Jones on piano, Wyatt Reuther on bass and Gus Johnson on drums. Their selections are: SIDE A: MR. MOON (Tonight Theme); I HEAR A RHAPSODY; THE CHANT and BLUES (traditional) vocal Zoot. SIDE B: ZOOT’S TUNE; HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON; BOBBY’S TUNE and BLUES SKIES.
I’ve rated this LP as VG. Side A appears to be clean of any marks on the vinyl. Side B has a few scuffs on cut #2, which has some slight surface noise, but they do not interfere with play. The spindle hole on both sides appears to be clean. The cover is in good condition. There is one taped seam on the top of the record cover, in the middle about 2 inches in length. There is some slight wear on the cover. This is a Mono recording
