Ziegfeld Follies of 1946: AUTOGRAPHED RED SKELTON/ LENA HORNE/ VIRGINIA O'BRIEN
Offered is a unique double LP record set, autographed by 3 of the performers in the MGM movie release of Ziegfeld Follies of 1946. On the front cover of the gatefold album are the signatures of famous entertainer / comedian Red Skelton, the superb jazz vocalist Lena Horne, and actress / singer Virginia O'Brien. Virginia dates her autograph 3/28/1988.
Here is some information from Wikipedia about the movie from which this soundtrack is derived:
"In 1946 M-G-M released a third feature motion picture on Ziegfeld's shows entitled Ziegfeld Follies with Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Lena Horne, William Powell, Gene Kelly, Fanny Brice, Red Skelton, Esther Williams, Cyd Charisse, Lucille Ball, Kathryn Grayson, and others performing songs and sketches similar to those from the original Follies. Brice appeared in the Follies for more than ten years and the 1968 Columbia release Funny Girl, which starred Barbra Streisand as Brice and Walter Pidgeon as Florenz Ziegfeld, depicts Brice's success with the Follies."
THE VINYL: NM : Both discs are glossy & seldom played with no marks. A factory error has given the second disc (CC100/16) the same label as the the first disc (CC 100/15), however the second disc carries the tracklist which is correctly for CC 100/16, starting with "Sweepstakes Ticket". So the tracklist listed below is what is on the 2 discs.
THE COVER: EX+ : Aside from some minor edge / corner wear, the gatefold cover is in fine shape. All seams are intact. Red's signature is bold on the purple "Ziegfeld"; Lena's is slightly faded but quite clear on the legs of Lucille Ball; and Virginia signed in red ink at the bottom of the front cover just below the credits.
This is an opportunity to acquire what is a unique piece of vintage Hollywood history, and the songs are terrific:

RECORD GRADING DESCRIPTION:
THIS RECORD IS SIGHT-GRADED ONLY UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT, ACCORDING TO THESE DEFINITIONS:
SEALED: RECORD IS WRAPPED IN PLASTIC & UNOPENED.
NM-: RECORD HAS LITTLE OR NO INDICATION THAT IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EX: MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE (LIGHT SCRATCHING/PAPER SCUFFS), BUT IN ALL A RECORD THAT HAS BEEN WELL-CARED FOR.
VG+: LESS CARE THAN EX, LIGHT SCRATCHING OR SCUFFING IS MORE EXTENSIVE. STILL VERY PLAYABLE & WILL LIKELY PROVIDE A QUALITY SOUND.
VG & BELOW: WHILE PLAYABLE, THIS RECORD HAS BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK. OBVIOUS SIGNS OF WEAR & SHOULD BE CONSIDERED TO BE IN A LOW GRADE. A RECORD GRADED BELOW VG MAY HAVE A VALUE BASED UPON ITS RARITY OR UNIQUENESS.
WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU CLEAN THIS RECORDING BEFORE PLAYING. RECORDS THAT ARE DECADES OLD CAN ATTRACT & ACCUMULATE DAMAGING FOREIGN MATERIAL THAT REDUCES SOUND QUALITY. THIS IS NORMALLY EASILY CORRECTED WITH A GOOD CLEANING.
