Description
Elvis Presley 78 rpm records 'Too Much' Very Good.. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class. I have delved further in to my Elvis vinyl collection, to my 78's. There are seven, five HMV and two RCA. It's interesting that the RCA covers are just plain brown paper. It's well documented that RCA believed and hoped that this rock 'n' roll was a flash in the pan, so no point in spending money on decorative covers. HMV chose a different approach and recognised the new teenage phenomenon and used covers to appeal to these potential new customers. When you look at the other names on the back of the covers, they are all balladeers, orchestras and opera singers. Max Bygraves is listed as 'singing' 'You're a pink toothbrush' It was time for a dramatic change and there was someone standing [Rockin'] in the background waiting to bring about that change and prompt Bygraves to mention Elvis in his song, 'Fings ain't what they used to be'. No Max, they weren't and never would be again. Anyway, back to the 78's. It was wonderful to play these records again and time travel back to an exciting new era in music. All five HMV records play very good with no issues. The two RCA records are not great so i won't sell them. I am a lifetime Elvis fan and would not sell Elvis vinyl or memorabilia that i would not be proud to own. This first 78 is, 'Too Much/ Playing for keeps' Released in the UK April 1957, entering the charts on May 16, peaking at number 6. It will be sent well packed. Any questions gladly answered.
