I purchased this 3 box set (4 LPs per box/12 LPs) during the 70's. (I will list the remaining 2 box sets in the next two weeks.) My recollection is that it was a French (Tristan Music) reissue of the Chess Catalog plus unreleased items. In addition to these splendid tracks, we are treated to a fifteen page booklet, with pictures, detailing the artists and the musical scene at Chess Records and in Chicago. This is an exceptional set!
The condition of the LPs is near mint (played only 1 time when they were copied onto tape.) The condition of the box is very good/excellent with wear around the edges.
** if you are a Blues collector, you will find we are putting hundreds of vintage blues LPs up for auction over the coming year. My husband is grudgingly downsizing his massive collection which he has acquired over the past 40 years and you should find these listings worth considering. Because he was the only owner of these LPs and he had too many to listen to, they were played very, very little and are all in excellent condition. Mark this site as a 'favorite seller' or email if you have any questions, and thanks for looking!
