Syd Barretts psychedelic toy box in full operational mode, setting the controls to the stratosphere like some psychedelic Icarus... with this his defining moment, and what a defining moment it is... lovely pop and angler guitar pop art form the setting with some of the best lyrics ever written in pop... the best pop album they ever made ?
The condition of the vinyl is in near mint condition, American vinyl ,even these days has a slightly dull finish, Its just the way they make them,this is one of the better ones, its quite shiny with a beautiful finish and looks to have rarely been played. The first run of these had hand etched matrix numbers on the run outs as seen in the photo's.
The labels are in near mint condition,this indicates very few plays.
The non laminated thick card cover is in near mint condition throughout with all the text clear and readable along the spine, a very clean and unmarked cover, that has most of the shrink still on it. The colours are vivid with hardly any wear at all, Just the minutest area of foxing on the top part of the spine as seen, although this is hardly even noticeable the white areas are clean and unmarked and the front looks almost new... beautiful
The audio is beautiful, a rich clean, vibrant sound.
These are getting very rare now in any reasonable condition, get it while you can
Graded using the record collectors book which grades as follows-
MINT- the record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Excellent- the record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/ or creasing.
Very good - the record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
